Is it metedura, metedura de pata, or metida de pata? Are all three correct, and if so, which one is used most commonly?

All three are correct. I would say “metida de pata” is more common and comprehended immediately upon hearing it.

In Argentina, only “Metida de pata”.

idk just say each in a sentence to someone that knows spanish and you’ll find out what one is correct
