There was that season opener game three years ago, the year after Indianapolis and Chicago had met in the Superbowl. The season opener was Indianapolis and Oakland and the one ref had to look over to the other ref before making the call whether the kick was good for Oakland or not. I guess that would have made it the opening game for 2007-2008 season.

I’ve seen it a few times. It really shows poor mechanics and communications by the crew. It’s very embarrassing.

It’s a fairly common occurrence, which is why you will often see one ref check the other ref’s signal before making his own.

acually this happens all the time so yes, one gets a side view and thinks it misses and the other gets a straight up view can tell it was good.
