When Jose Canseco was playing for the Rangers, he went back to the warning track to catch a fly ball. He misjudged it and the ball bounced off his head, going over the fence for a homerun.
Another downside to all the steroids he did. If it weren’t for them, maybe his head would have been a bit smaller and have missed the ball.
Another favorite (but kinda sad) is when Randy Johnson accidently killed a bird with a pitch during spring training. He pitched the ball, and a bird flew swooped down at just the wrong time. It got hit, feathers flying everywhere.
And finally, Robin Ventura when he was a rookie or maybe his second season charging the mound against Nolan Ryan and getting his butt kicked. Not really a blooper, but very funny. Ryan was about twice his age and manhandled him.

This isn’t really a favourite, but last season, when the Phillies ended an inning, Kendrick was jogging back to the dugout with the ball and he tossed it into the stands like so many players do. It hit some kid in the head, which sucked. I felt bad for that kid, I hope it didn’t turn her off baseball, but it was definitely the most memorable blooper last year, that I can remember.

Back in the mid-90′s, Steve Lyons slid into first on an infield grounder. He was safe, so he go up and called time to brush the dirt off, and proceeded to pull down his pants, the better to get the dirt out. After a second or two he realized what he was doing and pulled them back up really quickly, but it was already caught on tape. I remember seeing it on SportsCenter the night it happened, and I have seen it replayed many times since. I still chuckle every time I see it.

I liked last year when Ryan Zimmerman was fielding a grounder and it popped up into his jersey. The look on his face when he had to reach in and get it was perfect. He was so embarassed.

Not in specific but it’s funny when the center field and right or left field bump into each other!

People have said my favorite MLB but here is my favorite Baseball Blooper is the link I am providing. Rodney McCray playing for a Vancouver AAA team runs THROUGH the outfield and makes the catch! THat was hilarious when you realized that he was still alive!

The ball hitting Conseco on the head and going over the fence.

^^ Neal, that was a good one! Was it Canseco that let a fly ball bounce off his head and over the fence for a homer? LOVED that one…

yeah. buckner.
this doesnt really need an explanation but here goes anyway…….
the ball went through his leggs and the mets won the world series in 1986.

Of course the ball off Canseco’s pumpkin-head is a classic, but I’ll say the best was when Trot Nixon caught what he thought was the third out of the inning, then ran to the seats and plopped the ball into some young fan’s glove. Naturally there were only two outs, and the runners advanced as he frantically tried — too late — to get the ball back from the kid. Way to go, bonehead!
