But her Sue Ann character in that particular episode had it coming! Sue Ann was awfully nasty to Murray and I think much of the audience wanted to do the same thing to Sue Ann. Besides Betty was a real trooper and could handle it.

I just bought my favorite season, No. 4, on DVD. I can’t stop laughing AND recalling watching the shows originally, Saturday nights in the ’70s. Looking at the clips, I really think “Mare” started getting her much-profiled cosmetic surgery maybe prior to this show’s final season..maybe a slight eyelid job..her face lost the rounder look it had in previous seasons. Always beautiful, though!
