Back in the 60’s the guy that plays the Admiral also pitched Allstate Insurance. The slogan was (and is..)”You’re in good hands… with Allstate.”… hence the joke with the Tribble.

The footage you see here was taken with the same cameras that shot the show, but there’s two things going on here.. first there’s film degradation and no knowing how many times this version has been copied. The second is that footage selected for the final cut undergoes “color timing” in which the colors are balanced out within the shot and then made to match all the other footage taken during the show for color consistency. This was basically “junk” footage so nobody cared.

Excellent stuff!
Lookup “Nitpickers guide” books to the TV series.
TV shows are done on a tight schedule and budget! It’s amazing what makes it into the broadcast.
In all their biographies and most interviews, the cast talks about the doors!
They are at the mercy of the prop guys. And no matter what they have to walk at them with confidence they will open.
